Frequently Asked Questions
What is a humidor cabinet?
A humidor cabinet is a large cigar storage unit, akin to furniture, that offer substantial capacity for storing cigars. They are suitable for serious collectors or businesses who want to maintain an extensive inventory of cigars in optimal conditions. Holding up to thousands of cigars at a time, a cigar humidor cabinet usually comes equipped with a humidification source and built in hygrometer to ensure your cigars are stored appropriately.
Are humidors better than cabinets for storing cigars?
As long as there is an airtight seal and humidification source your cigars will be properly taken care of. A cabinet will need to have air circulation to ensure the entire cabinet and all cigars inside the cabinet are within the desired RH% level.
How long to season a cabinet humidor?
Seasoning an humidor cabinet is extremely simple. Wipe down the inside of cabinet and remove any debri from packaging. The Spanish cedar shelves will be fairly dry so it will take some time for the unit to get to desired RH% level. Simply plug in or set up your humidification source, add distilled water, and let sit for 48 hours. Be sure to check your distilled water levels during the seasoning process, if the Spanish cedar shelves are extremely dry then they will absorb a decent amount of water during the seasoning process and may take up to 5 days to reach desired RH% levels.
