Most common flatware sets are made in stainless steel. with various different metal grades.- 18/10, 18/8, and 18/0. The numbers represent percentages of chromium and nickel, the combination of both create a strong steel ensuring a long usage life. The higher the nickel content, the higher the resistance to corrosion. Therefore, getting 18/0 stainless steel silverware means it is more prone to wear and tear and showing scratches on the surface.
