Xikar Lighter Troubleshooting Guide: How to Fix Common Issues

If your Xikar torch lighter won't light, sparks unevenly, or produces a weak flame, you don't need to replace it. Most cigar lighter problems can be fixed in a few minutes. Step 1: Bleed and Refill Your Lighter

Before troubleshooting anything else, make sure your torch lighter has been properly bled and refilled with fresh butane. Old or low-quality butane is the number one cause of unreliable ignition, weak flames, and sputtering. If you haven't bled and refilled your lighter recently, start there because it solves the majority of performance issues on its own.

If your lighter is already bled and refilled with quality butane and you're still having issues, move on to Step 2.

Step 2: Check the Spark and Ignition

Next, test whether your lighter clicks and sparks consistently every time you press the trigger.

• If it sparks every time, your ignition system is working correctly. Continue to Step 3.
• If it doesn't spark consistently, this typically points to an ignition or hardware issue that a home fix won't resolve. At this point, your best move is to send the lighter in for warranty service rather than attempt further troubleshooting. Step 3: Check Spark Direction

With the ignition confirmed, look closely at where the spark is landing when you trigger the lighter.

• If the spark hits the burner(s) your lighter is aligned correctly. Move on to Step 4.

Step 4: Listen for Butane Leaks

Release the trigger and listen closely. Do you hear butane hissing or escaping after you let go?

• No escaping butane- your fuel system is sealed properly. Continue to Step 5.
• Butane escaping after release-  this means your internal fuel setting needs adjustment. Watch the internal fuel setting adjustment starting at 2:39 to correct it and stop the leak.

Step 5: Test Flame Quality

Finally, light your torch using an external flame source (rather than the built-in ignition) and observe the flame quality.

• If the Flame burns strong and torch-like your lighter is functioning as it should.
